Like the first, it was kind of blandly written. But I eat up ME like Mario eats mushrooms. Waaaait a minute...

It was a pleasant read but ultimately a bit pointless.

I'm embarrassed to have read a book based on a video game, but Ascension is a worthwhile expansion to a compelling and fascinating universe.

This plot diverged enough from the storyline of the games to be much more fun. It had some nerdy info-dumps, but I found it interesting.

I really liked this book. I am fascinated by the mass effect universe and think it is brilliant landscape of aliens, heroes, spaceships, and futuretech. If you did not play the mass effect video game you might not have the love for the universe I do and the book might not hold the same interest for you.

The plot in this one is a biiiit contrived, but the character writing is strong enough to make up for holes in the plot.
