OK, I tried this one after Promises and Pomegranates. I just can't find a purchase with this series. The synopsis sounds great, but the actual story while reading... rang a little hollow for me. Maybe it was the characters, maybe this style of retelling is just not clicking with me. Not sure.

I listened to about 33% of this a few months ago, a plot point gave me anxiety, and finally finished it today in one sitting. Turns out I didn't need to be anxious, but when does anxiety ever make sense? The first book is still my favorite so far, but I've grown to really enjoy Sav R. Miller's writing and I already have book three queued to go.

"And you, Riley f***ing Kelly, are beautiful in a way that’d make the constellations weep.”

Whew,

I don't even know where to start with this book. Obviously, heed any TW/CW. The MMC is definitely morally grey but, I love morally grey characters.

Honestly, I read the first book a while back and I'm not entirely sure if at the time I read it there wasn't any other books out or if I just didn't like it as much to try reading more. But, I decided to give this one a try and it drew me in like crazy. I absolutely adored Riley and Aiden: flaws and all.

There was definitely some enemies to lovers, miscommunication going on in this book and so there was not a TON of spice but, the spice we did get was *chef's kiss*.

Also can I just say that the whole theme for this one really made me happy because purple is my favorite color and I just..loved it. The art, the book covers, her pink hair, his tattoos, him being a tortured musician, the peppermint lotion.

*SOME SPOILERS*

Aiden does some VERY questionable things but, he does his damnest to make up for it.

I'm actually surprised so many people are saying it wasn't *dark* and it was all fluff. So I'm not sure what book we're all reading because, Aiden literally stalks and SA's her. There was definitely fluff in there but, he was trying to ruin her life because he thought she ruined his. Was it the darkest thing I've ever read? Definitely not but, no one said it was.

I have read these books in order now and just recently finished Souls & Sorrows and I'm kind of bummed that Aiden doesn't appear ever again and Riley is briefly brought in. It seems to mostly center around only bringing back Kal and Elena. I really loved Aiden and Riley's story so that bums me out.

I have a soft spot for rockstar romances and I can never have enough of the bully trope. So this was the right mix of the rockstar and bully trope with a dash of the stalker trope.
Sav. R. Miller did it again!

So now I'm asking, WHERE'S MY ROCKSTAR?

WHERE IS HE???
