imagine waking up without any of your memories besides your name with you in a big stretch of fields and forest and your surrounded my ginormous walls which you later find out that your in the center of "the maze" and you have to learn to live inside a community of young men who is been there for years and who also has no memories besides there names but your curious about the reason why you and everyone else has been put in the maze but your curiosity gets the better of you but turns out well when you become the newest member of the maze runners the people who explore the maze and you eventually find the key point of the maze and after the maze goes to shit and you and everyone have to reach the key point before everyone is killed
all i will say is that there is a plot twist and something happens that will effect thomas (the main character) thought out his trials of the maze and beyond
i give this a 10/10 for the plot twist and his life changer effect

What this clunk was this pile of shunk?

This was really disappointing. I wanted to abandon it several times. I don't know how much was due to the reader on the audiobook or the material, but I don't care what happens to these characters or to their world or anything about them. And I really couldn't sit through more of the absurdly stupid swear words Dashner made up.

Whoa, well Mr. Dashner did a great job with the ending of this book. I’m ferociously reading through the second book now and I can’t wait to discover how it all unveils.

The Maze Runner is a story set in a Post-Apocalyptic future (which not disclosed until the very end of the book). The main character, Thomas is dropped on a piece of land; Called The Glade. It is gated by huge stone walls with doors leading to a maze. Thomas learns that the only people that live in The Glade are boys, ranging in age from 12-17, and they call themselves Gladers. Thomas’ memory is erased, and the only thing he remembers is his name. The story develops as The Gladers and Thomas try to solve The Maze, but things change when a girl is dropped in The Glade and warns Thomas that things will change. The end is coming.

The energy in this book is spectacular. James Dashner creates a slang that the Gladers use, which is very entertaining to learn. The kids have assigned roles in The Glade, so that there is harmony and order. There is a punishment for the boys that don’t respect the rules. There are monsters that hide in the maze which are described so well, it makes your skin crawl just to imagine it. There is a hint of magic, when Thomas discovers he has a gift.

I will recommend this book to anyone and everyone that is trying to find a good book like The Hunger Games. Also to anyone who is trying to find a good YA read with a male lead, which I haven’t found since I read Harry Potter.

Thanks! Happy Readings
