Story was not my typical go-to for graphic novels. I tried it because I wanted something new and wanted to support the author. He's a nice guy.

The story was OK - seemed a little pretentious at times. It tried to dive into philosophical meaning and such, but just grazed the surface and didn't really add any additional perspective or analysis. I wasn't sure if the authors was trying to make commentary, or just be ridiculous. Maybe both, either way, the concept was lost on me. The characters were good, but followed very common tropes.

Different artists for each issue is a very ambitious project, and given the plot premise for this piece, I understand why this was done, but it didn't allow for continuity between characters. They are new characters, and not very well-known, so identifying with each of them as they're changing did make the story difficult to follow.

I couldn't tell you what happened in this book if my life depended on it. The second issue doesn't seem to have anything to do with what happened in the first. The third tangentially fit into what came before, and then from the fourth issue on, I have absolutely no idea how any of this ties together and I'm pretty sure the authors didn't either. It's convoluted and badly set up for reveals that come out of nowhere in a way that made me want to just drop the book and never pick it up again. The character designs alternate between interesting and the same white dude over and over again. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I actually really enjoyed this. There was a lot of action for the length of the comic and it left me wanting to read more! It's not perfect, of course. But it was a good start that I hope follows through on further issues.
