terrifying and heart breaking. i love how this author builds anxiety with a deft hand and it made me want to read everything they’ve ever written

I can’t really think of another book I’ve read set in modern day South Korea. I loved this book, the writing is beautiful & the story compelling. My only complaint - a particularly American one probably - is that a couple of the names in the book were SO similar that I had a hard time figuring out who it was.

This book is wild. Seriously. It took me a couple days to fully immerse myself in the setting - maybe the weakest part for me. The vibes were there but I couldn’t picture the place, you know? - but eventually when the story kicked off it did not matter anymore. Genuinely surprising and chilling at points, but not too much to stop you from finishing out of pure fear. I appreciate that in a thriller.
