Im new to reading poetry collections. This was fantastic. On thanksgiving day was incredible. The whole collection cycles between erotic lesbian love, Black trauma, and queer politic reflection.

Glad someone recommended I read this quick, slim volume. It illuminates the Black queer lesbian community and time it was written in, about, and for beautifully but also transcends its moment.

p. 56: "white folks went crazy / and went to nut houses / Black folks got mad / and went to jail"
