Going into the book without the novelty of liking metal really pushed me away, but with an interesting plot, great characters, and an overall fun experience, Murder Falcon delivers in all sorts of ways. The ending is also very satisfying and does not leave you disappointed.

An engaging tale of trusting yourself, believing in others, fighting monsters, and rock & roll.

The most metal thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. It takes every amazing element of metal music and the surrounding culture and turns it up to 11.
The story is genuinely powerful and is rooted in extremely real, emotional depth.
I’ll never be the same.

Look, everything you need to know about the book is in the title and the basic premise description. There are monsters. A troubled guitarist named Jake and a murder Falcon named Murder Falcon (you know, a giant falcon who murders monsters, duh) are able to defeat the monsters with the power of metal. Yea, there's some heartbreak backstory, and concern for Jake's close friend, and a few other details, but really it's just Heavy Metal Vs. monsters with the kind of art you'd imagine would work well with the conceit.
If you like the premise, you'll probably love this. If it doesn't sound like your kind of story, I don't think it's elevated to the point where it can coax you in with its charm. It's silly. It's fun. And it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Not my typical read, that's for sure. This is one of those books I kept thinking "eh, this isn't for me" then there'd be a really funny panel that made me legitimately laugh out loud. There's a lot of heart in here too and a few gut punch moments. I wasn't a big fan of the art but it matched the story.
