Expectation: I have read a couple of Julia Quinn's other books and expected something similar, a romance story with a bit of a kick. While I did enjoy this book as a light read the characters weren't fleshed out enough for me because of the lack of continuity with the writers and the need to change focus in order to allow each individual writer their set words.

Characters: I liked all three of the couples, though I felt that the Alec/Gwen storyline was ridiculously rushed in comparison to the long standing relationships between Neill/Kate and Hugh/Georgie. I would have prefered if the stories had intertwined, a chapter on Hugh and Georgie followed by chapters on Kate/Neill for example. That way there could have been more time and pages to develop the relationships rather than having to rush each one within a set limit of words.

For what this novel was however, I approve.

An interesting premise -- three authors working together to write sections of a book. In a way, it reads like 3 novellas that are tied together.

Cute concept but I don’t remember it too much. Worth reading for the different authors who individually are some of my favourites

I tried....oh how I tried, to get into this book. I am usually not fond of anthologies to begin with, but I figured since I like all three authors, and i found the idea of a 'Novel written in three parts' intriguing, I thought I would give it a shot.

Unfortunately, this book is a huge mess. There are far too many characters to even attempt to keep track of, and it's also a choir trying to determine who's character is in the forefront of the a particular chapter, and who is just passing through.

The entire thing seemed ridiculously over-done; characters that are nothing more than historical romance cliche's (the ethereally beautiful girl who all the men are in love with, the boorish aristocratic, the rogue who loses his heart to an unexpected lady etc etc) witha kind of slapstick humor that i just don't enjoy. So, i found myself giving up on this a little over half way through.
