I met Mr. Pack at Wordstock last weekend in Portland. I think I'm a little bit in love with him. I'm certainly in love with his book after only a few pages. Bottom of the Sky has all the elements of a great epic novel. Man against the elements, man overcoming hardship. Fighting from the bottom to great achievements. The characters are well drawn, the story keeps you turning the pages, and the writing is top notch. Bill Pack has achieved something very impressive with his first book.
