Oddly camp! DoSLAYevsky really knows how to ham it up one minute, and then whack you round the head with some psychological reasoning fascinatingly ahead of its time the next.

For real though, not since Bella Swan has a protagonist been so inexplicably adored by everyone else in the narrative.

Perhaps my favorite book of all time. A must-read. I couldn’t stop turning the pages as Dostoyevsky explored Raskolnikov’s troubled mind.

Dostoyevsky is really good at creating that suffocating and sullen atmosphere so much so that it became a chore picking this up everyday bc reading it would put me in such a sour mood.

je suis pas fan du style d'écriture et en même temps ça donne l'effet de sombrer dans la folie en même temps que le (anti-)héros

My motivation to read this book is so I can ask my friends, family, acquaintances, and random strangers “Hey, have you read Crime and Punishment?” Or even better, during a conversation I can say “in Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment, he says…” and then I can smile smugly with deep satisfaction. Dear friends, I know this sounds like it’s meant to be humorous, but it’s also true. And being true to myself is part of my journey

As for my review of this book, WHO am I to review this book? It’s 5 stars. Saying it’s less than 5 stars is like saying Willie Mays isn’t a Hall of Famer (one voter did). Or the Beatles are overrated. This book is 5 stars. It’s beyond 5 stars. It’s ridiculous how awesome this book is. Why do Russian authors kick so much ass? Why do they cram more depth in 600 pages than anyone else? I don’t get it, but I love it.

In summary, read this book.
