So despite crying how much romance isn’t really for me I’ve been on a hot streak. I haven’t stopped reading it for the last few weeks. Why? I’m not sure. But that’s besides the point. The point is, despite that I still went into this bad boy hoping for something. And it fell short.

For starters, the sex scenes weren’t great. They just weren’t written all that well, (yes, it has reached that point in my adult life that I can recognise bad sex scenes/writing and that I have expectations of it, who knew? [Apparently not me]) So yeah, there was that and the fact that as much as I preach ‘age is but a number’, (since I still act twelve) the thirteen year age gap between our two main characters was still something that I wasn’t 100% sure about.

The characters? Well, they just weren’t that exciting. At all. I wanted to fall in love with Levi. Heck he sounded good in the blurb! But he really wasn’t as 'amazing’ as they talk him up to be. I would have thought a hot shot Lawyer would have a slightly more compelling personality and we might get to see some of his brains instead of his dick, but no, wishful thinking. There wasn’t even that much sex and yet I still read more about his grunts than his intelligence. Smart guys are hot, come on people.

And then, my god, why did she rush that ending? And why the heck was is so melodramatic? Please explain? I almost feel like I would have been okay with it being melodramatic if Mcavoy had spent more time on it. But it was almost like left field drama that we’ll just brush over and not really use to add all that much to the plot. Alright sure, maybe I sound a bit OTT. I mean, I still had a nice time reading it. And I loved that it touched on real life issues of race, (although not much) but I think the ending just killed me (hah) and then it got me thinking way too much about what really bothered me about it. So here we are.

But if you aren’t fussed about my above points go ahead a read it bud!

What an interesting story. I was captivated from the very beginning. I love portrayals of strong and successful women. This story has romance, spice, age gap, forbidden romance, intrigue and so much more.  I read it all in a day. Great job JJ

What a roller coaster ride!

This story was well plotted and written. I just loved it. It was full of drama and suspenseful with a little mystery as well. The who done it situation changed from person to person. I was completely caught off guard who the murderer really was.

Thea was determined to get her father out of prison, even if it cost her her own happiness. Levi was determined not to let her go but he did not want to scare her into running off. She was a broken person from the abuse she suffered at the hands odher stepfather and he mother's lack of faith in her. He had to play his game carefully to keep her from running. He'd never fallen for someone like he did for Thea May Cunning. That one week they spent together when they first met took them both by surprise it was off the charts hot. It was supposed to be only for sex, but what they got was so much more.

I highly recommend this well written book.

Miss JJ will give you a good book man, no misses. I can’t believe this was published in 2015. How to Get Away with Murder but in book form, how could I not love it

This was a fantastic read. The story follows Thea Cunning and Levi Black’s week long fling that turned into a student-teacher relationship. I really love student-teacher relationships that are done right, and this one is done right. There were some unexpected twists.

Thea Cunning is a twenty-three year old woman and the daughter of a well-known lawyer and a man who was falsely accused of a murder that he did not commit. In order to get her father out of prison, she enters law school and is trying to be one of the twelve disciples of Mr. Black’s law firm. Thea is a determined, fierce and sassy character, and I fell in love with her.

Levi Black is a lawyer and professor. He is known as “El Diabolo” because his teaching methods are a bit unorthodox. Although he acts brutal as a professor or lawyer, when he is not practicing law, he is a sweet guy who is family oriented, and funny. Levi is a smart, determined, and sexy character, and I love him too.

The two of them together are amazing. I love the way they are around each other and how they keep wanting each other no matter how angry they are. They have amazing chemistry. I am happy that they got their Happily Ever After. I cannot wait to read Rainbows Ever After. Overall, an amazing read.
