The reason I couldn't finish the book "The Long Walk" by Stephen King is that I got bored halfway through. I found myself trying to convince myself numerous times to continue, but ultimately, I had to admit that it wasn't my cup of tea. The constant scenarios in the story seemed useless and didn't capture my attention. Additionally, I felt that the pacing of the narrative wasn't to my liking, making it challenging to maintain my interest in the book.

Despite it'sĀ  slow pace The Long Walk is a very gripping and very tense book, which I couldn't put down. Left me thinking and feeling long after finishing, a book whose contents and characterĀ  will stick with me. As the first King/Bachman book I'veĀ  read, it hasn'tĀ  definitely left me hooked and wanting to read more of his work. Although it was challenging and difficult to get through at times, due to the descriptions of pain, gore and death, I found myself not being able to get away from it until I'dĀ  finished. Highly recommend. Only down side is that the end felt slightly rushed and neglected, as it felt faster paces in the last few chapters. A very great read however, one I won't forget.Ā
