Excited to dive into this one, but want to have both the audio and the print.

I have finally come to a part of the series I never read as a child! More than the others, this one felt like a disconnected story that existed just because. Of course, I knew that there wouldn't be a resolution one of the big issues at this point in the series, but the main conflict of the book really just came and went. Even in a series for kids, the tension can be better managed (and has been in the other books), whereas this seems to have had very little consequence on the world at large. Plot here was more of a side quest, if you will. I'll still continue the series because they are very easy reads, and I'd like to safely recommend them to younger people in my life. Crossing my fingers that we get to revisit the angel that is Clawdia the cat

Re-read. My first instinct upon the whole fiasco with the wand was to go, "Dang it, Billy. We've been through this." But then I realized he was an 8 year old child being manipulated by much older, powerful people and I was no longer angry. Also, it's nice to see the transformation of the wand; I was obsessed with moths since I read this as a kid. This is the most random bit -- does anyone else have random people they picture as the characters? Because most of mine are people I've seen in my day to day life at some point, but others are celebrities/actors. Like Manfred? I picture him to look like the best friend from "A Cinderella Story" but specifally the halloween costume w/o the mask: all black, greased back ponytail, though with an even paler complexion and a smattering of freckles.
