"If life is truly a song, then what we’ve got here is just snatches of a few melodies."

This was great. Naylor is a really good writer who had such a great sense of style, comedic timing, and characterization. The only things I wasn't the biggest fan of were how dark the book is -- it's essentially bad things happening to people for 240 pages, but it is occasionally offset by levity, and my favorite chapters were Sadie and Mariam's, which are very hard to read at times, so it's not a total drawback -- and the fact that I read this for an assignment lol. Still, definitely would recommend!
