I enjoyed this one, though I think I went into it with the wrong mindset. The couple reviews I had seen had focused on the romance, but really, the family dynamics are probably the most important part of the book.

I thought this was a beautiful exploration of grief in all its aspects. I felt Greta’s pain through the book and the way the loss of her mother had completely upended her life. I honestly think I would have personally preferred the story without the romantic aspect, but overall I appreciated what the book was aiming to do.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I am dealing with the loss of a parent and found this book to be healing and moving. It had romance, family drama, character introspection, and a nice epilogue that wrapped things up while leaving me wanting a sequel. The Alaska backdrop was also a nice touch.

3.5 rounding up. Good for what it was - a palate cleanser.

This was a really interesting read with a perfect, but unexpected, ending. Really enjoyed the audiobook.
