hedda gabler is incredibly fascist and impulsive, which makes her actions both comical and revealing of the deeply seeded flaws of the middle class.

I've been a fan of Ibsen since I read "A Doll's House" in high school. Reading "Ghosts" for my final dramatic lit course was a real treat.

I still think there's just about no author/playwright on earth that writes women better then Ibsen.

To be more precise:
A Doll's House: ★★★★★
Ghosts: ★★★☆☆
Hedda Gabler: ★★★★☆
The Master Builder: ★★☆☆☆

As an overall read though, this collection of Ibsen's plays was an enjoyable read. The Master Builder just wasn't enough to hold my attention (mainly because Solness came off as such a sleaze that I had to stop reading).

but tell me then, hedda... wasn't it love at the back of it all? wasn't it on your part a desire to absolve me... when i came to you and confessed? wasn't that a part of it?
