a man turning out to be crazy and abusive

will never surprise me.

the book is pretty good overall, though. both perspectives—client marissa and ‘consultant’ avery—are engaging. so refreshing that avery is a modern woman, happily single with a good career.

Spoiler

marissa distrusts other women the whole book, while it was her own damn husband.

and at the end the women support each other. I like the subversion of the catty women stereotype here.
