Decent storyline, but slightly dull in places. Underwhelming overall but good moments and I enjoyed the insight into bookselling and the use of dual perspective to explore two very different women’s thought processes.
Not the best book to read when you’ve just moved to London and you’re already scared of being attacked x

What a weird, creeping and unnerving thriller. Guess you never know how much people really want to get to know you.

I chose this book at the library, mainly due to the cover.
It was a dark read (at times darker than anticipated!) but also a real slow burn. It was on track for me to be a 4 star read but the ending didn’t work well for me and so overall it was a solid 3.5 stars.

Roach was a brilliantly written character and I went from being disgusted by her to rooting for her, and everything in between. Laura was not particularly likeable and made some really questionable decisions. I flew through this book and I did expect a little more from the plot in the last few chapters.

A strong, at times disgusting, and funny debut novel.
