This book is super little and at first I didn’t find it very insightful. It runs through all the usual good habits that help like Morning Pages and gratitude journalling which I didn’t find very inspired.

However, when I got to the part about ‘tilting’, my ears definitely perked up. I loved how clearly McAlary explained the myth of balance and the need to tilt and be flexible in order to find fulfilment. I’m definitely factoring this into my thinking moving forward.

Small book about how to slow down in life. Few points and exercises to think about what we do in our daily life. Nice!

It was mentioned early the stress of having to-do lists but many of the exercises involved making lists. The same thing happens with multi-tasking, but then offers tips like fitting in time to do other things when the kids are entertaining themselves. That’s not exactly single-tasking. This book doesn’t mention that maybe the solution is reframing how we look at things, but that’s all that it does.

This book has a lovely message and simple living is something I love but this book didn’t go into enough detail in my opinion! For someone who doesn’t know much about mindfulness this could be a good starting point, but I’ll be looking for books that go into further detail!

I really enjoyed this book. The author’s rituals are straightforward and realistic. She recommends reading the entire book before putting these rituals into practice. I’m and impatient reader and wasn’t excited about waiting till the end to start my practice. However if the author offers a suggestion it’s usually for good reason. I agree 100% with her recommendation because chapter builds on the previous. Everything isn’t for everybody and that’s the beauty of this book. You can adapt it to what’s works for you.

Great little book with tips on simple living, slowing down, and being intentional. I always like reading books on this topic, and this one is very practical with things to start implementing right away. I highly recommend.
