This audiobook filled with quick 5-minute stories all centered around the theme of sleep and bedtime, were interesting to listen to and would be a good selection for kids having a bedtime story. As a sidenote, I've never in my life heard that bears had their cubs while half conscious during hibernation. I was impressed and slightly uncomfortable.

+The narrator had great inflection and reading
+The stories were very short but still packed with interesting facts and concepts

- Not all of the stories were interesting... I was expecting a bit more variety, and I think at times the "bedtime" theme was a bit too narrow.

It is a really nice bedtime story audiobook. The voice and the recording are very soothing which makes it possible to calm down right before going to sleep. The stories are also the perfect length so that you can just fall asleep without missing anything important. The stories are very interesting and from different subjects so there is something for everyone. Would definitely recommend it for kids that are interested in history, science, or facts in general.

This book gives true stories about the history of sleeping, nocturnal animals, interesting bed designs from around the world, the largest bed and the biggest sleepover, with a dozen other amazing facts about the nighttime.

There are details about what happens in our brains when we dream, the sleep cycles we go through, and how our body is replenished and healed during sleep. There are stories about stars and planets, and how astronauts sleep in space. There are facts about the phases of the Moon and how an eclipse happens. There are even details about how animals hibernate and prepare for that long winter sleep.

I love the illustrations in this book! The art style is colorful and clear, and the designs are really attractive.

This would be such a fun book to read at bedtime with a curious kid who loves to find out about the world!

I really liked this book, I was worried it was going to be one of those 5 minute story books that are very annoying. Instead they were very informative and interesting stories. We found ourselves chuckling and saying wow I didn't know that. My kids definitely wished they had the actual book to read when they want lol.

I like that these are all, really and truly, 5 minutes exactly, which means that this audiobook could be a perfect little wind down ritual at bedtime. Not as interesting as i could wish, but that's also part of the wind-down vibe. This is not a book to read all the way through, it is mean to be digested one or two little 5 minute chapters at a time.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Brittanica Books for a download copy of this audio book in exchange for my review.

I loved it, I mean really loved it!

I am already a fan of bedtime audio books but this one stands out, particularly for my eldest daughter, who at 8 years old and often leans towards non-fiction over fiction material. She devoured this in one sitting.
This has been one of the few non-fiction audiobooks we have enjoyed.
(The reference to farting could have had something to do with that enjoyment)

These stories’ are mostly Interesting facts about sleep, told in a story format. 29 stories to be exact and all roughly 5 minutes long.
In my opinion this is an excellent way to not only educate but to settle the mind before bed.
The stories are simplistic enough to understand, but also encourages the listener to think and use their imagination or visualisation skills.
The narrator asks question like, “Where in the world would you like to sleep?”
This audiobook also explains subjects like what happens in hospitals, how astronauts sleep in space, and my favourite, nocturnal animals.

The scene is set through the stories using subtle sound effects that add to the story but not so many that they become distracting as we have found in other audio books.

I love the narration, Joanna Lumley is perfect for this role, engaging and clear throughout with a voice that sounds enthused and natural whilst remaining soothing for a settled bedtime.

The stories are ended with beautiful lullabies from around the world.

I’m delighted to have received a copy of this for our bedtime routine, I can see this becoming a firm favourite!

This was a very interesting book, informative and entertaining. As the tag line suggests, the book covers 30 interesting stories related to bedtime. And the range is indeed quite vast, as the stories go from sleeping styles to types of beds to snores to nocturnal animals to cosmic objects to astronauts. Basically, anything and everything related to bedtime or night time has been included. This reduces any chance of monotony and keeps the children wondering about where the book will go next.

The content of each story is straightforward and easy to understand. It works suitably for its target audience, children aged 4 to 8.

As this is an encyclopaedic kind of book, I can’t help but feeling that some of the stories would have been better enjoyed if the book were read instead of heard. Topics such as sleeping styles or space-related facts are definitely more fun and better understood by children if visual. At the same time, the narrator does a wonderful job bringing the book to life. She reads the stories in an enthusiastic yet calming voice, something that will create the perfect ambience for little listeners before they nod off to dreamland. The sound effects such as bird calls and cosmic beats further enhance the audiobook experience.

Each story is just 5 minutes long and will be the perfect pre-bedtime lullaby for your little one, leading to superior knowledge and sweeter dreams.

I received an advance review copy of the book from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
