This book was beautiful and really enjoyable! I was rooting for the characters and the writing  was lovely. A solid pick if you’re in the mood for a historical fiction.

I was somewhat skeptical of this book at first. I was nervous that it would get confusing with so many characters and that the addition of a fashion history element wouldn't really interest me.

I.Was.Wrong.

The Paris Secret is nothing short of a triumph of historical fiction writing. The stories of several characters are woven effortlessly together across borders and through time and it's impossible not to be swept away. The women are all share an independent spirit and strength while being completely different. Skye was my absolute favourite and her relationship with Nicholas won't soon be forgotten!

This book is not without heartbreak though and I do mean heartbreak! There is this anxiety I felt as the reader that made me so happy I never had to experience the uncertainty of every day during the height of WW2. That feeling often comes a bit when I read this type of historical fiction but in this case I do believe the writing had a lot to do with it. There were a lot of "What ifs" muttered throughout, not by the characters, by me! Knowing full well that if my what ifs existed the book wouldn't have been nearly as captivating!

It's clear from the writing that Natasha Lester is passionate about what she writes and while this was my first book by her, I am already expecting two of her earlier books at my door within the next few hours!

A huge thank you to Forever Publishing for a copy of this wonderful book in exchange for an honest review!
