This book was unbelievably amazing! I wasn’t sure at first because I do t read this genre too much. But when I read the blurb I couldn’t resist. And I am so glad I did. The relationship between Adam and Bane is volatile. Bane struggles with so much pain it heartbreaking. And even though Adam’s methods are intense it’s what Bane needs to release his tortured past. It was so incredible when Bane finally fully submitted to Adam. And the love he has for his vamp is unwavering and beautiful. Loved this book!

Hell No. #1 BDSM used as a curative treatment for survivor's guilt, grief and PTSD. #2 Dubcon because Bane's alpha forced him to do a 24/7/30 rehab stint in the BDSM club. #3 Bad BDSM - Adam punished Bane for the first time in public with no safeword. When he took Bane's anal virginity, Adam deliberately made it painful. #4 Vampire doms commanded Bane to engaged in puppy play while in his human form. DNF. Returned to KU @ 0%.

I liked this book mostly. Maybe? Its difficult

The one real complaint is that as much as Adam, our vampire dom, extolled the consensual nature of bdsm.... this book didn't really reflect that. Their relationship felt one sided. Bane was kinda forced into the relationship, and Adam never gave much in return.

He was always just calling Bane a brat instead of offering him affection. He blamed Bane, tried to reshape his entire personality. Then talked about how Bane was in control but punished Bane for being himself. Not to mention calling Bane's limits pathetic, and just generally giving nothing to the relationship

I was kinda pissed when Bane was suffering and made a big declaration to Adam and Adam wouldn't even return it. And that was treated as ok?

I also really don't feel like Adam had a character arc either. He started the same as he finished. All that happened was a backstory reveal that added very little
