The Feral King’s Bride is a sweet (and spicy) fantasy romance made from a blend of several well-loved fairytales set in the world of the humans and the Fae. It is one of the lighter books I have read recently, and it was a joy to read.

The FMC, Princess Mina, has been locked in the castle tower to live out the rest of her days as she wastes away from the Fae sickness. Near death, she is found by the MMC, Wolf, who has climbed the tower to escape capture from the king. Wolf is no hero, but he offers to bring her to the gates of Faerie to save her life. An unlikely pair, Mina finds herself falling for the first person who has shown her any kindness after she fell ill.

While not billed as a fated/true mates story, it reads like one. Mina and Wolf are two people who seem drawn by fate to meet and fall in love despite odds to the contrary, who continuously save one another’s lives (and might be keeping a tally), and who would give up their kingdoms to save. Their relationship is so sweet, though not without some bumps along the way.

I loved watching the development of Mina’s character, from her near-death state in her tower to the strength she wielded by the end of the book. Her growth beside Wolf as he recovered his memories was remarkable.

This is a high steam story, though it takes a couple of chapters to get going. Wolf is obsessed with Mina and not worried about showing his affections (or voicing his intentions).

I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to readers who are fans of different fairytale retellings or Fae romances.
