I absolutely adored this book and couldn’t put it down. I spent all day thinking about it, wanting to read more, yet also wanted to drag it out so it never ended. A book I was genuinely disappointed when I finished it, not with the story itself, but because I’d finished peering into Allegra’s life.

I loved how small pieces of information were revealed over time, relationships developed, genuinely funny moments and characters I won’t forget. Without giving too much away, I also enjoyed that it didn’t have the expected ‘fairytale moment’ or romantic sub-plot.

If you enjoyed Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, you’ll enjoy this book.

It’s tempting to knock off a star because of the weird writing format, and I did find the lack of speech marks for the discourse jarring at times, but I just can’t do it.

Ich hab mich so so sehr auf den neuen Roman von Cecelia Ahern gefreut, wirklich.
Ihre anderen Bücher habe ich verschlungen und geliebt, daher war die Erwartung an dieses Buch sehr groß.

Voller Vorfreude hab ich mir also dieses Buch/Ebook geschnappt und mich in die Welt von Allegra gestützt. Leider musste ich mich schon nach ein paar Seiten, richtig zum lesen zwingen.

Ich hatte auch sehr mit einem Flashback zu kämpfen, ausgelöst durch eine Situation direkt am Anfang. Für diese Situation wäre eine Triggerwarnung (SVV) sehr hilfreich gewesen, dann wäre ich vorbereiteter gewesen.

Das Buch habe ich bei der Hälfte ungefähr weglegen müssen, da ich mich sehr zwingen musste weiterzulesen.. Es kam wirklich sehr sehr langsam in Fahrt und es war auch eher anstrengend dabei zu bleiben, was durch den Schreibstil auch nicht wirklich einfacher gefallen ist.

Vielleicht kann ich dem Buch irgendwann nochmal eine Chance geben, aber zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt ist das Buch für mich beendet, da es für mich sehr anstrengend zu lesen war und dem ganzen aufmerksam zu folgen.

Schade, es hätte Potenzial gegeben
