Ivy in Bloom is a fun way to introduce your children or child to poems by some very popular poets that are still too complicated for them to understand! the illustration's in this book just add to the joy and the enjoyment of the story! It was beautiful to see Ivy's gray world come to life on the pages! This would be a great introduction into the poetry world for the kids and there are so many activities you can do to help bring each part to life for them!

Thank you for sharing this book with me! It was a lovely addition to our home school curriculum!

Ivy in Bloom by Vanita Oelschlager is by far my favorite children book I've read this year. I love the story flow of this poetry book. The need of spring, I feel the same way right now, everything it cold and covered in snow. This little girl loves spring, and it goes through her life from winter to spring. My favorite line is “Give me sunbeams dazzling.” There's just something about this line I love! I read the E-book and the illustrations in this book is simple and cute! I relate to this characters, and will be adding it to the list of physic copy to buy!

Illustrations were cute and colourful. Bits of poems about spring has been collectively presented here.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the eARC.

A lovely concept that gave me the idea to have my students collect poetry around a common theme to turn into their own collected works book, and also write their own poetry. The poetry didn't blend into the intended story as well as I would have liked, but I do like the concept and the annotated bibliography at the end is a great addition.

This was a beautiful book and I love any opportunity to give children a nod to the classics.

The concept is really great and likely sounds way easier than it really is to create such a mashup. Some parts may not seem to transition as smoothly, but that seems unavoidable due to it essentially being a remix and it ultimately all tied together nicely.

The illustrations are so sweet and fitting. I received a chance to preview this book through NetGalley, but need to purchase a physical for my shelf. I’d love to see a version for adults as well, though this one is enjoyable for all ages.

Truly adorable. I downloaded it and wanted to look a bit at the illustrations, but I ended up reading it entirely, because it's really, really, really short. I think it's good, though, because children can be more interested and not be bored by it. I loved the illustrations and the concept of the book, so I'd recommend it to anyone.

(Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.)

I love poetry for children. This is a wonderful collection of poetry for children of many ages. In my opinion, this should be a staple in every classroom so that children are exposed to verses, poems, and novels in verse as well. My classroom has a poetry unit during which students pick their favorite poems and share, and this is definitely one of the books I will use to guide my students and show them examples.

I loved this vibrant book of children's poetry! The pages come alive as the seasons begin to change, and the imagery pairs wonderfully with each line. Beautiful illustrations and excellently composed poems. I really loved how at the end of the book it shows the full poems from where the exerts were pulled from and a thumbnail of the illustration used to convey that poem. Great book!
