Nora was celebrating her 18th birthday with her family. She thought things were going great. She was finally of age to meet her mate. There were plenty of single males in the pack, so she was really hoping she'd find hers there! Well, she ended up getting her wish... but was rejected within minutes of finding him.
Years go by where she's made a life for herself, by herself, away from her pack and family. She still struggles mentally, but she puts on a mask to hide behind while she goes to work and helps everyone she can. She meets a man who shows up at her workplace one day, and she feels safe around him but isn't sure why. He offers her a job in a big city, and though very reluctant, she takes it when she's forced with no other choice. She ends up meeting more men who work with the one who gave her the new job, and they all make her feel comfortable. It isn't until later she realizes that they believe she's their mate.
A lot of this book focuses on her mental health and suicidal thoughts. If this is a trigger for you, I'd steer clear from it.
If you've ever felt this way or been depressed, this book will resonate with you a lot. I'm sure there are some out there who read this and think it's slow or that she should "get over things," but anyone who's been there gets it. It's certainly not that simple.
Thankfully, Nora has her men behind her, whether she wanted them there at first or not. They support her, even if it's just by cuddling her or sitting beside her. They help take care of her by making her food, brushing her hair, and helping her get dressed when she feels too weak to do it herself. The men are SO supportive of her, and it's fantastic to read about them being there for her, even if she feels alone.
I'm excited to read the next book to see what happens with the hunters and her old pack. I hope her men get to fulfill their wishes on getting back at her ex, despite her holding them off on it for the time being!
