I want a robot friend like Mosscap.
Right timing, right book, right message. The pacing was a little slow near the beginning, but the whole back half of the book is perfection imo (when Dex meets Mosscap and onwards). I thought the world building was amazing. From the eco-sustainable way of life to the theologies of the Parent Gods and Child Gods. Their world appears way more kind and in unison compared to ours.
Topics included in character dialogue: life, death, simple comforts, and life purpose.
Minor: Animal death, Injury/Injury detail, and Blood

This book is a hugely refreshing vision of an optimistic, beautiful future. The world-building is incredible and also incremental, given to you when you need context but never overwhelming you with detail. The characters are extremely lovable, their interactions were funny enough to make me laugh out loud to myself. It is charming and insightful and relaxing and warm. Strongly recommend reading it outdoors, in a quiet place, with some greenery, and your favorite warm drink.

Moderate: Death
Minor: Injury/Injury detail, Blood, and Animal death
One of the most comforting books I have ever experienced. I feel it’s important to note a warning for existentialism and possible existential crisis, for those having difficulty coming to terms with mortality and purpose. There’s a great deal of conversation surrounding feeling lost and grappling with ones eventual death but it’s handled in a gentle way.sxndaze's review against another edition
