This book is so incredibly beautiful and heartwarming. It's cosy and sweet and very solarpunk and I can't wait to read the sequel!

5 stars, this is such a special book, it is my new treasure, if I hadn't been reading a library copy I would've been marking the lines that I could feel burning new neural pathways in my brain and making me cry. And specifically, as one of the reviews on the back of this copy aptly put it, making me "cry the good sort of tears - the sort when someone is unexpectedly kind to you at the moment you need it most."

This book is a hugely refreshing vision of an optimistic, beautiful future. The world-building is incredible and also incremental, given to you when you need context but never overwhelming you with detail. The characters are extremely lovable, their interactions were funny enough to make me laugh out loud to myself. It is charming and insightful and relaxing and warm. Strongly recommend reading it outdoors, in a quiet place, with some greenery, and your favorite warm drink.

I love this book. It feels very homely and cozy, with just that sprinkle of future tech to keep it interesting. The setting descriptions are beautiful, and the main character feels very real, and very familiar. I love that most of the book feels inner monologue-ish, while not actually being so. I am looking forward to checking out the other book in this series.

I think this has to be one of my favorite sci-fi books I've ever read.  This was so wholesome.  I read a review where they said it was a slice of life between a non-binary monk and robot.  Which sums it up pretty well.  This is the kind of book you'd wanna read with a nice cup of tea.

Tea
Comforting
Non-Binary MC
Dry Sence of Humor
Slice of Life (but make it sci-fi)

Such a lovely little book, quite in nature and just a good book to read on a cold night with a cup of tea. It really does embody the idea of coziness, and I thoroughly enjoyed the characters. Though it is Becky Chambers, so you shouldn't be surprised that it has a great cast of characters. While I've only read one of her other books, I can tell you the characters stood out in that book, too.

I think one of my favorite aspects of this book was the ending, where Mosscap and Dex are having a conversation about doing things that matter. It's something I think a lot of people feel, needing to do something that lasts, that makes a difference. But Mosscap thinks differently; what's the harm in just existing? Definitely something that humanity needs to get better at.

All of the tea ceremonies, and just the interactions between Mosscap and Dex were great throughout. It was a calm, happy book, and if you're looking for something lovely to get lost in for a little while, I definitely recommend this.
