Really beautiful written. Read on the Isle of Skye and it was a perfect setting for this. Great discussion of mental health and mental illness. My grandma had dementia and died recently and this book did indeed make me cry. The bullying storyline wasn’t handled super well, especially given the racist element of the bullying. I don’t feel like Kin was well developed in general and didn’t appreciate that his trauma was swept away so neatly.

This book was incredible, It made me run through all my emotions and It hits home! Julia is such a strong young girl and it shows! The search for the shark isn't just any ordinary search, its much more! The illustrations throughout are amazing too and they really lend the reader an aid in their imagination! I highly recommend this book to anyone!! 5 stars! Well deserved!

Just as amazing as her other work. Sad to say there was one line in it that I cannot forgive which is why I dropped it to 4.5 instead of 5.

Stunningly illustrated and stunningly written. The way it’s all put together is a work of art. I didn’t love it until the very end but after sitting and reading it in one sitting I was won over by it and sobbed uncontrollably by the end. Beautiful book.

Greenland sharks are my absolute favorite animal in the entire world. That combined with such a poignant story and such beautiful writing made this one of my favorite books ever. I am also currently reading "The Deathless Girls" by the same author, and wow... Kiran must be one of the most versatile authors I have ever read, such different stories that are both so incredibly well written and enjoyable.
