A decent adaptation of the book, though with the pictures of the creatures instead of having everything left up to imagination, it was far less creepy. Adapted for a younger audience, as well, which makes the classic science fiction story a bit more accessible to elementary readers. As such, some of the philosophy is left out, which is a shame. Kids are smarter than we give them credit for. But it's still got good art and is a stepping stone toward reading the real thing.

A middle-grade retelling of the HG Wells classic, this story is as weird as I remember it being, but this version has even weirder illustrations, and none of them look like Val Kilmer.
