I really had a hard time with this book. I get where she was going but it was just so over the top that it was hard to take seriously. I loved her idea of doing short stories about everyday challenges modern day women face. Unfortunately, the transformations were so whimsical that it was hard to really look at the issue she was trying to represent which were strong enough on their own.

I love Ahern's writing but this just didn't work for me. I appreciate what she was trying to do here but this just fell flat for me and seemed very superficial at best. Thank you to NetGalley and Grand Central Publishing for gifting me a copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I felt most of these stories were very surface level, with many causing me to roll my eyes. A short story collection with such a broad theme could really benefit from having different authors that can truly share their perspectives. Also 30 stories is far too many for such a short book. All in all, really did not enjoy this book.

Stunning. Strong. Sad.
Women hold on to so much and can be very relatable.
The woman with the clock - I know you the most.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this collection of stories. I used to love Cecelia Ahern novels but haven't enjoyed her last few books. This collection has restored my love for her work. I particularly enjoyed the elements of magical realism.

Fable-like short stories, but if all of the fables had really obvious and surface level morals about being a woman. Not for me.
