Firstly, let me say it’s short. At an approximate 19 pages, it is definitely a short story – thankfully, there is no attempt to hide this in the description.

That being said, it’s entertaining in a slap-dash fashion. There’s no time for nonsense and you don’t get any. Both the format and the length added to the plot’s sense of urgency in a wonderful way.

There are parts that assume a reader has not had the opportunity to read the first two novels, and then there is a more vague reference to something from the end of book 2 – as someone who has read them, I found the former to be a little redundant and the latter to be oddly disproportionate, but not so much that it ruined the story.
