i think the entire puzzle-solving bit was quite cool, because it added the tension of expecting something to go severely wrong or for something terrifying to happen. i also liked the shot through the red wine glass that painted her in completely red - cool stylistic choice!

what i don't like, at all, is that this comic is depending a lot on the horrifying instances and moments at the end of the issues to keep the reader intrigued. meanwhile the build up is somewhat slow, so it kind of feels cheap to depend on this. we'll see how it goes, though!

yeah, sadly, this is not at all changing anything for me. it is holding the same tone it has held the past 4 issues. there's always these little moments of excitement because something actually story-heavy is going to happen, but it chickened out of it quite quickly again.

so this entire series will be a DNF for me.

Another creepy issue but nothing really happens plot wise.

Red Mother has been a truly chilling series, right from the start. In the span of just a few issues, Daisy has been through hell and back. Though perhaps not literally. Not yet, at any rate. What is in store for her is a lot less certain, so I’m not going to rule out that possibility.

Daisy McDonough had been a woman content to live her life, enjoying time with her boyfriend, while working on projects for fun. But that was all before she and her boyfriend were attacked. Now he’s missing, and she’s still struggling to cope with the fallout.

Last we saw, a mysterious box had been left on her door. I for one had spent more than my fair share of time wondering about what the intriguing item could possibly have been. So naturally, this is an issue I was very much looking forward to.

This was ok. We finally get an interaction with the 'red mother' after just seeing them for the past couple of issues, but it was a little convenient that after the interaction that thing turned out to be just fine.

This was definitely a better issue. I like how gotten to deepen the mystery bit with a Victorian puzzle box. That was pretty cool. I definitely like how we got to see more the mystery of what is happening to her eyesight, even though it seems fine. This was definitely better that the last one.

Spoiler (Notice: this mysterious creature that the character seems like a low key slender man)
