Loved this one. It's deeply atmospheric, has a strong emotional core, and there's a neat genre twist at the end where it goes from melancholy fantasy to something like horror. Would be a wonderful companion to the other great MG time travel book I discovered this year, Charlotte Sometimes.

agh this was ultimately pretty boring and the mechanics of it didn't make any sense! the modern-day Elizabeth is staying with her aunt Kate (an academic) over the summer, and she starts time-slipping into the body and life of another Elizabeth from the 1500s who has like, a sinister older brother Robin who's ?controlling?? her??? some kind of way? idk I didn't really know what was happening
