Honestly, at first it was hard to get into this book. It was hard to look past the over-the-top loftiness of the writing. If you feel the same, I encourage you to continue  reading—you’ll see why. This was an emotional and beautiful book, and I’m glad I gave it a chance.

I am so grateful that this wonderful book was translated so that I could enjoy it. I hope to go back to it again and again to engage in discussion with the characters about the meaning and beauty in life. Aren’t we all leading a secret inner life that must find it’s way into the world? Well, maybe not all, but I certainly feel that way at times. The characters feel like friends helping me find my way.
