My reading may have been affected by my last reading the previous books over a decade ago, with only hazy memories of them. It was a bit younger leaning in that the dialogue of the bad guys was a little cartoonish, but then it was also happily violent.

Overall, solid but sometimes lacking in depth (the part where it talks about making the sacrifice worth it was one of the strongest parts). The banter between the friends was my favourite part. The pace was fast, things were constantly happening, which was engaging but the in-between moments tend to be when you develop a connection with the characters.

I read this book about a year ago and I didn't quite understand it. When I read it again, things began to make more sense but I lost interest in the plot. This book was overall a great read for science fiction readers. But, I honestly thought that Otto wasn't the greatest character. Everything revolved around him which I get since he is the main character but I think the author should have focused more on the other characters. To be honest, I like the other characters better than Otto. I would have to say, Wing,Shelby,Raven are my favorite characters.Even so, the ending of the book had me rolling on the floor in laughter.

I love this book. I was cheesing so so hard throughout, especially about Wing and Shelby. I’m glad this had a mix of action and violence along with fun and cutesy romance.

Mark Walden's H.I.V.E series is quickly becoming one of my favourites, and Zero Hour did not disappoint!

Actio, double agents, even a bit of romance! Yes, this is the one where Otto and Wing properly discover girls.

Ends on a cliffhanger, leaving even me as a 26 year old eager to read the next book. There was a character death (I won't say any more), and I felt this could have been a bit more detailed, but this is junior fiction so I'll let it slide.

I am slightly disappointed that again Nigel and Franz only seem to be around for the comedy factor, I would like their characters to be taken a bit more seriously and be developed a bit more.
