Though I enjoyed the plot of this book and there were some genuinely funny bits (e.g. the cows that want to be eaten), this book failed to live up to the rest of the series. Other adaptations/interpretations of Adams' work have had the benefit of a script (Shada, City of Death, The Pirate Planet) or game with direct oversight (Starship Titanic) and have on the whole been more enjoyable. I think this book works best when Cofler isn't trying to channel Adams and is definitely worth reading for those who like the rest of the series such as myself.

I read it, I avoided it for years but I finally broke down and read it. It was interesting and I understand with Colfer was chosen and, hell, I even like his Artemis Fowl series. However, And Another Thing is not on the same level as Douglas Adams. It made me chuckle and it did make me smile but it didn't settle anything and really wasn't the close to the series I had hoped for. It took me almost a month to get through because I kept putting it down at the thought "That's not how Douglas would have written it" and I kept coming back out of sheer bloody mindedness. At least I'm through it now.

Another wacky instalment in this series. I didn’t like that the author used a different writing style compared to the original author. Otherwise, a fitting end to the series.
