I love the companion novels in this series, especially Clay’s! Because well he is my favourite hero of this series and also he has the whole silent no talk thing going on in hope(less) so having his side is an amazing and adds so much to the over all story! I love seeing Gabby through Clay’s eyes and his devotion to her and his patience to win her over.

The companion novels are such a great addition to this series and just like hope(less) Clays hope is an amazing book 1.

A companion must read

This is the companion to Hopeless and it does not disappoint. I suggest reading hopeless first but then this right after.

Most his view books are snippets of moments, this is the whole book. That being said it is so we'll written you find yourself rereading and learning so much more about Clay and why he does what he does. Its funny, witty, and awesome how different events are when seen from the other side.
If you read the other series, read this one!

I might even rate this a 2.5. It was super slow and considering its under 300 pages I think that says alot. Clay spoke maybe 2 paragraphs out loud the whole book. That is probably being generous and more then half of that wasnt to Gabby (heroine and future Mate). It bothered me, a lot. I've read another book where the guy hardly spoke at all and I loved it. This one just started to annoy me. He'd just shrug his shoulders and not say anything at all and she found it attractive. He only talked to her on the last 10 pages for hells sake. Gah. And yet someone she loves him!?!?!?!?
The story was just slow. It finally started picking up in the last 60 pages or so and it finally got interesting enough that I might read book 2 but so help me if that guy doesn't speak out loud at all im out.

Oh my god.... Seriously, I think this might actually be my favourite book out of the entire series!!! I love clay and gabby's developing relationship, I think the fact that they took time to get to know one another makes them a stronger couple in the end... This is a must read for lovers of romance!

This was fun and dull at the same time. Fun because we got Clay's POV and Dull because it was same story as Hopeless. Nothing new or exiting or another adventure of his own happened. Okay some of things happened but it wasn't completely new or wasn't something you can't guess by reading Hopeless.

I wanted to understand why Clay didn't speak to Gabby when I read Hopeless and I though it'd have been better explained in this one, but I still can't see the point -

If I'd spoken, even just one word, I would have never been able to hold back what I felt for you. You would have run.

Talk about intense!

Anyways, I enjoyed spending time in Clay's head and it was freebie from Amazon so I can't complain much. Though I now wonder whether I would read Emmitt's story or not.

Ciao!

ON REREAD:
4.5 stars — I actually enjoyed this book more the second time around! I think that’s because I already knew what to expect from it, and it’s amazing what changing your expectations can do to affect your enjoyment. Clay was just so adorable, I just really ended up enjoying seeing the story from his perspective.

4 star -- I know alternative POV books aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I actually tend to love them. As long as they give you something new. And since Clay never spoke through almost the entirety of Hope(less), I really wanted to know what he was thinking!! And since I LOVED Clay, I had high hopes for this book. And I, personally, really enjoyed it. But I didn't love it as much as I was expecting.

So what I loved: I got into Clay's head. I loved that what I thought I knew was going on in Clay's head based on his reactions and Gabby's conclusions weren't always correct. For example, when she bought the used car. It was actually kind of hilarious. And I LOVED knowing his feelings for her, and seeing all he was trying to do to prove he would be a great mate for her. It actually broke my heart at times, and almost made me dislike Gabby a bit more, but oh well.

Oh the bad side, other than getting inside Clay's head for most of the events of Hope(less), we really didn't get a lot in addition to that. I mean, yeah, we got to see him get the job and fight the challengers, but there really wasn't a lot of new content otherwise. In particular I was hoping we would get more about his past and how he grew up and how it shaped him. But it really wasn't there, which I guess is consistent with the lack of background we got on Gabby. So I was still disappointed in that. I really felt like more could have been done in both books in that respect.

So all in all, if you are a fan of alternative POVs, you'll enjoy this one. If you don't get them, then you should probably avoid. You really aren't getting a lot of new stuff in this book, it's really like a novel written for fans. Which I am, so yay for me.

I never read a book that tells the same story just from a diferente perspective so instead of picking up Hope(less) I read this one. I’ve got to say I really liked Clay, he was just so sweet and even thought he was super protective he wasn’t a controlling alpha asshole. I really like werewolf romances but most of the time I tend to have problems with how the H tries to dominate the h and this was nothing like that, which I really liked.

I do have to say that in some instances I felt like I was missing some context because I didn’t know Gabby’s POV, so maybe I would have benefited form reading hopeless. However, it’s probable I won’t be doing that because like I said I’m not into reading the same story just diferente perspective, which is why I love dual POV.
