Just meh for me. Nothing special about this one. I wish this one would have come out before The Hate U Give.

We really get into Maverickās head and understand the tension he feels trying to become his own person while meeting the conflicting expectations of those around him.

This was a great backstory on one of my favorite characters from The Hate U Give. Angie Thomas's depictions and storytelling are incredible. The characters feel so real and relatable, even though the story is fictional. Not a 5 š like the first but I loved this series!

So good. So so good. I loved reading about Maverickās origin story. It was a lighter read than THUG even though it still dealt with heavy topics. At this point, I am willing to read anything Angie Thomas wants to write. Send me that grocery list, if you want!
