Loved this, the new characters are fun and proved my first impressions wrong which is always a welcome surprise. Magnus is just as charming as ever and I appreciate getting to check in with the others.

This is a fun adventure tying up some loose ends from Sword Of Summer while weaving new threads into the tapestry of disaster that is Norse Mythology.

I think it's been eight years ish since I read The Sword of Summer?? I can't believe it took me so long to continue the trilogy.

I really enjoyed book 2!! I feel like this is Rick Riordan's peak: genuinely funny, human, diverse, more violent, more mature. The found family trope works so well too, it really is the Magnus Chase trilogy's strength! And, although I'm sure it's not perfect, the efforts on R. Riordan's part to bring diverse representations is much appreciated.

Another banger. I have to say, Magnus Chase has my favorite cast of characters out of any Riordan series, hands-down. They are all incredible. It's gonna hinge on the last book, but it may very well surpass the original series for me. I'm having a great time so far, hardcore recommend

Preface though: I agree that the Norse gods are portrayed badly. Like awfully. It's really bad. But for me, it's negligible (other than the fact that Thor pisses me off and is just utterly irredeemable - just a pure comic relief character). I don't know enough about Norse mythology to be truly bothered. And I feel like Loki's character sort of makes up for it. But if that sounds like a deal-breaker, it probably is.

AHHHH I LOVE THIS BOOK. Alex is a damn girlboss she is absolutely amazing and I love the LGBTQ+ rep as a genderfluid person she is just- the most lovable and iconic character ever. Blitz and Hearth, bless their hearts. Amazing both of them. Cried over Hearth’s backstory. Poor dude. Samirah is absolutely amazing as well and I LOVE her. Otis is a mood. Loke istg I’ll fight you☝️ Wonderful book overall. Cried on multiple occasions and it’s just a heartwarming yet emotional book. Perfect sequel if you ask me. This series has so far been a roller coaster and it’s so hard to process that I’m already 2/3 through it. ALSO, ANNABETH BRINGING UP PERCY? My heart skipped a damn beat. I’m being dramatic but I love Rick Riordan’s books okay if anyone reads this, know that. Definitely recommend if you like Norse mythology, however remember that it’s a sequel. That’s all. Bye! :D
