Third - maybe fourth? - reread. I originally bought the ebook, but recently treated myself to a physical copy too. I live for the day the sequel of this book is announced.
(That should tell how much I enjoy it)

here's another one I had high hopes for ;( right off the bat I should say this is not a poly romance, which I thought it was. It's - gosh, it's a weird book - it's mostly a sort of goofy/cozy m/m romance, up until the last quarter or so where it speedruns a fantasy plot.

honestly I found the book cheesy but that's personal preference so I'm not going to dunk on that, but the pacing is very weird! The first chapter is Ursula's, then one for Vlad, then one for Nathan, and I thought they were going to rotate but Vlad and Nathan started alternating and Ursula didn't reappear. She got the first chapter in act two to remind us she exists, then nothing. Then at like ~75% she appears, meets just one of the men, kicks off the save-the-world plot, and then they wrap that up in time and she gets back on a train and leaves.

hmmmmmmm ok

anyway the writing's not really my cup of tea, I think the sex scene was pretty well done and I liked some of the hurt/comfort elements. I do wish it had been a poly romance! but instead the lady felt verry tacked on even when everyone's thinking 'boy we sure all do look good together maybe we could all make out' upon first meeting, it feels very shoehorned in. I guess the sequel will be poly? eh

Ursula coming in to the plot literally 3/4ths in to completely shift the plot was a bit odd, but I very much enjoyed this and I'm glad there'll be more.

I’m not going to say this is perfect, because it’s not, and my personal preference would be to have a much stronger plot/world building (and a map), but that doesn’t mean this wasn’t still an absolute freaking delight to read
