There was snark, which I appreciated, but there was also just a lot of everything. Too many plot threads, and not necessarily a lot of full resolution. And way too much miscommunication between the leads (which is one of my least favorite things as a trope). But it was fun. A nice mix of supernatural with magic and shifters and vampires.

Audiobook-Chris Chambers: 5 Stars ⭐️

I loved most of this series when I read it but OMFG Chris Chambers’ voice is pure sex and I’m even more obsessed with this series now. I NEED more. I wonder

This book showed some real potential. I liked the forced bond story and the magical content was good. It was also nice to see a werewolf pack that was not totally loaded and actually experiences financial difficulty like the rest of us. What I didn’t enjoy so much was how mean Nate and Ian were to each other throughout the whole novel. I can appreciate some back and forth snarky banter, even a well placed burn or two, but when Ian and Nate interacted, it was more hostile than anything else. This conflict never really resolved until the last quarter of the book where both men finally cleared the air and admitted their actual feelings instead of just assuming the worst all the time. This became unbearably frustrating and detracted a bit from the overall romantic plot. As mentioned though, I did see some promise, so I am willing to give the series another shot and hope for the best.

"I hated everyone in the f-king world except for you."

This book is exactly what you expect it to be (or at least what I expected it to be): a quick and easy mlm supernatural/fantasy romance with a barely-there plot (outside of the romance) and mediocre writing.

The technicalities of this book are admittedly not the best, but its a 200 page easy-read romance, and overall entertaining book that I don't think needs to be taken too seriously.

This was entertaining. Not a ton to it, but I did find the characters enjoyable. I wish I could have gotten to know Ian more, or have his confession of love be more dramatic. It was sweet though

For my future self: Don't let the 3star rating fool your memory. We loved this book! It was silly, heartwarming and a little bit angsty.
Nate was sassy, humorous and the source of the angst.
Ian was hot and a secret cinnamon roll.
The romance part of the book is rereading material. The overall plot was... there. Not good but not entirely bad either, it serve it's purpose as a companion to the romance I think.
