awesome! i normally prefer autobiographies over biographies but thought that this was well done. jimi’s music has consistently been a source of joy in my life and honestly one of my first introductions into rock music so it’s so enriching to know more about his process and experience. crazy inspired and appreciative of his contributions in music <3

Room Full of Mirrors is a 400 page biography on the late Jimi Hendrix. 400 pages. And the guy only, tragically, lived to be 27. He did so much in his short life, I can only imagine how long this bio would have been if he had lived longer!!
The book seems well researched, it's well written, and seems fairly factual. If you are looking for some juicy gossip, move along, because this just isn't your book. But if you're at all interested in music history or are fascinated by the man, himself, then I would say this is a good place to start. It's not always an easy read as these many mentions of such trigger warnings as suicide, drugs (duh), death, and more.

I have to agree with most of these reviews. The book is rather elongated and contains a number of small details, many of which do not further the book much. However, in general, Room Full of Mirrors is an excellent account of the rather crazy life of one of the most famous guitarists of all time.

I have never read a biography before and didn't think I would ever be interested in reading one. I went into reading this book knowing nothing about Jimi Hendrix other than his name and that he was a musician. My boyfriend was a fanatic about this book and insisted that I give this book a shot; and I didn't know what the big deal was about this man, Jimi Hendrix, or the hype - but now I understand.
Room Full of Mirrors is a wonderfully written biography. Charles R. Cross went to a whole other level with detailing Jimi Hendrix's life and everything that went on during his time. It begins with the background story of his parents, who they were, and what they're life and backgrounds were, and how Jimi ended up being born into poverty.
It is very hard to explain how I feel about this book. It was just a wondering read. It was a great reading experience for me; and I will definitely be reading more from Charles, and reading more biographies in the future.
