Wow, what a twisty thriller, just when I thought I knew who did it, I really didn’t! Loved it.

This book....

There were things I liked about: it was a page turner, I wanted to keep reading to see what happened next. I liked Clara, the main character's best-friend.

Other than that, it was a frustrating read. There were a lot of sentence fragments, which got to be annoying after a while

Spoilers below

The thing I disliked most about the book was the ending, which I felt came out of nowhere. It's very hard to make the first person narrator the killer. The whole novel, we are reading Gaby's thoughts, feelings and actions. She never mentions anything that would lead us to believe that she was the killer. She expresses only confusion when the police investigate her. Then bang, last 10 pages...oh yeah, I did it! Here's how! It made the whole book feel pointless to me. Why get the journalist to help her investigate? Even if she thought it would lead nowhere, why take the risk, knowing she herself was the killer? I also find it unbelievable that the police were so incompetent that they could not find any more physical evidence against Gaby. She is a first time killer, and she leaves no trace of DNA or anything on the body? After stuffing poor Ania in a suitcase and planting her body in the park? What?

And what a horrible person Gaby turned out to be. Killing her husband and framing him for the murder? Geez. It was good until the last 10 pages or so.

The only reason this book isn’t getting a one star is because of a spoilery reason so read at your own risk.
Her husband cheated on her so she killed the woman and then frames her husband for it but also makes it look like he commits suicide
so I mean fuck you Philip. Also the main character is a woman hating woman which irritates me more than a man hating woman and I don’t know why but like fuck you too bitch
im glad he cheated on you and you lost your job

I won this book on Goodreads First Read

So for me, this book was slow starting, it took me about 3 days to get through the first 70 or so pages, but I'm so glad I stuck with, I finished the final 200 pages in one evening as I couldn't put it down.

The book is about a Polish girl who is found murdered by Gaby, a married lady with one child who works as a TV presenter. Gaby only found the body, but all evidence points to her being the number one suspect.

The plot has so many twists and turns, and a conclusion that I didn't guess at. To liken this book to Gone Girl, is fair. I did prefer Gone Girl but maybe that's because I read that first. Either way this book is most definitely worth reading!

What a waste of time. About halfway through this book, when I started to get bored with it, I noticed that all the reviews likened it to "Gone Girl". And then I started to REALLY be bored and skim the rest. First-person view with a twist -- just turn "Gone Girl" around a bit, and you'll know without even reading it who did it. Ugh.

This one definitely shocked me at the end. The way it ended had crossed my mind, but I kept telling myself there was no way it was true. And yet, at the end, I found myself still surprised. This book definitely sucks you in. Finished it in a few hours.

Great opening grabs your interest immediately, but overall, this is a pretty tame and annoyingly deceiving read. Even M. Night Shyamalan would cringe at that ending.
