Delightful book. It's fun to see how it all started, (that and I'm rather partial to reading comics). Poor Cyd. I can very much sympathize with the main character, since I'm a female gamer, and empathize, as I know what it's like to go through seemingly useless counseling. There were parts that made me laugh, parts that drove me crazy, parts that made me cry, and parts that came eerily close to what it is actually like in real-life sometimes. I'd highly recommend this for anyone who devotes *cough*millionsofhours*cough* to playing games.

I actually didn't know these people kinda actually existed!! I really liked the drawings though, when they were in the videogame, that was pretty fun. I wish I had an RPG like that! I think the characters were not that believable but still just fun to read about. The main character needed to get rid of that boyfriend pronto, though I was confused about whether he was gay or not. Overall, I think it was super fun to read, not going to be my favorite because the plot is annoying, but just a nice graphic novel overall

Really loved this--the voices were really authentic to the series and the art was lovely. Great to see where these characters were coming from, where the whole thing started. Felicia Day continues to impress in each and every medium she plays with.

I had been a long time fan of The Guild, but it took me two years before I bought this graphic novel. A prequel to the web-series of the same name, The Guild focuses on Cyd's life before "The Game" and how she meets up with the gamers who would eventually become The Knights of Good. It's an origin story written after the fact that stays true to the web series and the characters.

If you're just getting into The Guild, I'd recommend watching some of the seasons before reading the prequel. You aren't missing anything and I think familiarity with the characters gives this graphic novel a new level of awesomeness.

A enjoyable quick-read. Apparently a prequel for the web series (which other than http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urNyg1ftMIU I've never seen)... Obviously I've been missing out...

The prequel to the web series, where we learn how the Guild came to be.

Deeper than I expected in places, this graphic novel is such an enjoyable look into Felicia Day's world. Fans of the web series should definitely consider checking out this adaptation. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who isn't familiar with the series, or with Felicia, as the show goes more into character development and makes the story clearer. I treated this as more of a companion.

The art was the highlight for me. Jim Rugg switches between his normal drawing style for the parts that take place in the real world, and a gorgeous fantasy style for the in-game sections.

Not only is this a great comic about the life of cud before CODEX but my copy is even more exciting. Mine is SIGNED by the beautiful and talented FELICIA DAY. She is so pretty and so sweet. Even if I did have to wait in line for over 4 hours.
