“You look in excellent health to me, Potter, so you will excuse me if I don't let you off homework today. I assure you that if you do die, you need not hand it in.”

{a re-read of the series}

the world cup, triwizard tournament, yule ball, return of voldemort... there is so much packed into this book and every time i pick it up i love it even more - which is probably because, just like PoA, it's not one of my favourite films in the franchise. The film leaves you with so many unanswered questions, where as the book ties it all in and actually gives you a great understanding of all the new characters and their backstories. You also read about familiar faces that again you don't see in the film that do sort of seem important to the overall plot of the franchise.

reading GoF always looks intimidating as it's the first larger book of the series however it is such and easy read that will leave you wanting to read one more chapter with all of it's twists and turns - and to find answers to all the unexplained parts of the film.

so again would recommend anyone who enjoys/loves harry potter, who has not read the books to go and read the books to actually understand the wizarding world so much more.

so first half of the book was meh cause i couldn’t stand not having the trio dynamic like having ron not talking to harry and hermione being in the middle was agonizing for me

BUT THE OTHER HALF? WOW
1. seeing how the Weasleys stepped up for Harry and showed up for his events as “family”

After attending the Quidditch World Cup, where Voldemort's followers, the Death Eaters, cause a riot, Harry heads to Hogwarts for his fourth year of wizard study. There, Headmaster Dumbledore announces that instead of the usual inter-house Quidditch matches, Hogwarts will host the Triwizard Tournament...and somehow Harry is also chosen as the fourth contestant, even though he is underage and Hogwarts already has a champion. Thus begins the plot of J.K.Rowling's fourth book in the Harry Potter series, that leads to a climax even more spectacular, harrowing, and tragic than that of Azkaban (which is one of my favorite books in the series).

The tone of Goblet is even darker than the last two installments but Rowling still gives us tons of humorous moments as well as the sparks of romance to help us ease our way into the evil plans that are unfolding in the wizarding world. The Goblet of Fire truly is when things really begin to heat up in Harry’s story and when things begin to truly take a serious turn.

The ending is breathtaking, brutal, and, very moving. If you've read Goblet, you know exactly what I'm talking about and if you haven't, well, what are you waiting for (I won't give out spoilers)?

Rowling once again proves she is able to create a charming, suspenseful story. She plants the artful clues and tricky surprises that disarm the most attentive audience, even if you're reading the series for a second or third time, you'll still be shocked by the twists and turns of Goblet.

It took me so long to finish this reread since I've been reading so many other books too, but this one is so good! I love the tournament part and ah the ending!! Love curling up with a few pages of this series before bed to wind down♡

This is one of my favorite books in the series. It has a lot of action that keeps you interested. This is also Rowling's first attempt at extending the stories. By keeping it action packed it does a good job of holding onto the reader through the extensive story lines.
