I don't know what TJ Klune puts in these books that makes them so hard to put down, but I listened to almost this entire thing yesterday. What I like about this series is that way that Klune weaves in backstory to characters we've already come to love in each book, giving us a more rounded view of this found family as a whole. Plus, the narration in the audiobook is just so good!

The start of this book is slow and intermittently repetitive from the first book as it retreads a lot of plot from the first book in the series, albeit from Gordo’s POV instead of Ox’s.  That said, once we get past that part, this book takes flight on its raven wings and pushes us further into the story.  There’s moments where the writing does get bogged down and repetitive
usually when Gordo is thinking about his mate and his complete inability to forgive Mark for 90% of the book
however the ending is satisfactory and sets up the next book in the series well.

In general, I’d say this is better than the previous book.  There are some minor quibbles about prose quality as this is (according to my local bookstore’s shelving methods) technically YA however covers some topics and graphic sex I normally wouldn’t associate with the YA label.

I’d recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of teen wolf (particularly anyone fond of Sterek or Stiles as Gordo is an older, more jaded, chain-smoking Stiles) or gay werewolf fiction.  Will continue on to the next book in the series after knocking a few other novels off my TBR list.
