Real rating: 1.5 stars

The only reason its not a 1 star is because the beginning friendship dynamic with Tyler and David was really interesting. The rest of the book was crap or contrived or just not fully explained.

The characters were extremely flat
Brent was a terrible gay adult just... blatantly getting David into hot water
Tyler's motivations at the end made no sense like... none
The ending was rushed and the characters had no chance to really react in a meaningful way

Excessively simplistic. Just did not seem authentic.

This is proof that family doesn't always mean blood. Family means they will stand by and support you. Very eye opening.

This is the first book I ever read when I came out, and it quickly became my favorite. Yes the book has its faults and can be a bit predictable at times, it still holds a special place in my heart. If you enjoy watching "Heartstopper" on Netflix, this is the book for you.

Beautiful representation of a teen trying to figure himself out.

This was fantastic and so well put together. I didn't think another anonymous diary could top my love for Go Ask Alice, but this one has either just done that, or is right on par with it.
