This was a great start to a friends to lovers romance. We follow two young adults who have lived together for six years. I like the characters and I'm looking forward to seeing where relationship goes.

This is some of the most impeccable art I’ve seen in a long time. It felt very easy to keep track of who was who thanks to the stylizing of each character, which I find is a common struggle of mine with some more contemporary pieces of manga. I found the recurring characters to all be pretty sweet. Even Towada who at first had me unsure. The story follows two main characters Shou and Ryou. They’ve been childhood friends and have now been roommates for six years since graduating high school. And now as they are each becoming more aware of their closeness, the question of what is their relationship and the future of it becomes a nagging thought in each of their minds. Because of their long history, there are sudden jumps back in time to when they were younger that if you’re not paying attention will totally through you and feel disruptive to the story. I was able to keep up, but I do think a flashback indicator would be nice.

Definitely feels like a more gentle slow-burn love story between two very bad communicators - which is oddly both frustrating and gripping. I feel like the two main characters spend a lot of time thinking, hesitating and agonizing over what to do that for most of the volume that’s all you really get. Which is kind of disappointing, I’d love to have seen more of their real personalities. The author at the end mentions potentially only making this a two volume story so we shall see what the next volumes entails when it comes out this October.
