A little slow in the beginning, but the final action is really compelling. It had a little bit of second book syndrome—a lot of pieces were being moved into place for later books—but still a good read.

A very solid second entry in this infinitely long book series. Reading Fireheart and Sandstorm's blossoming friendship has been very cute and while the depiction of disabled characters in this series is definitely questionable I do really love Cinderpaw. She deserves so much better! Her and Yellowfangs friendship are very cute and I can't wait to read more of them. Yellowfang is so sweet to her, I love it.
